Porn Movies versus Porn Straight
From "Text, Lies and Video" Part 1
Most people know that Randy Blue has a new movie out, “Text, Lies, and Video,” and most people also know that RandyBlue.com is one of the pioneers in changing gay porn from those videos with ridiculous plotlines (yes, the pizza boy who “delivers,” etc.), to “straight” gay porn.
In the last decade, porn has changed quite a bit because of this format. When I first say gay porn (or straight porn, for that matter), there was always a storyline, and usually mood music. I loved it when some sites stopped doing that, as I never cared about the fantasy; I just wanted to get off. Don’t get me wrong: I love romance, and I love it when guys kiss while they’re having sex. I also love hot scenes in romantic places—the beach, a pool, the tropics. As for music, I think I’d rather hear the guys’ moaning than something in the background, as that’s part of the eroticism.
But plotlines still exist, and RB couldn’t resist doing another one—part of it is a buildup, I suppose, to show off Chris Rockway bottoming again. The film is in installments, and I’ve only seen part one. Thing is, it’s lame. Minus character names, and a silly bit where Chris sets up a camera, it’s just another RandyBlue.com video. Also, the plot distracts from the fucking, and that’s why I tune in.
I guess there’s something to be said for porn “film” versus porn scenes, but I can’t remember the last one I enjoyed. If anyone has a comment, or a suggestion for a good one to watch, please let me know.
