First Impression

Sooner or later, someone needed to make a gay Disneyland. NakedSword.com isn’t just another porn site; it’s an adventure. Unlike some of the popular (and best) sites, NakedSword.com is where you go to find anything—almost. The site here updates several times a week with access to the latest movies from different studios; it’s a collection of other studios’ works, not (for the most part) original material. You can go to New Movies, Featured Movies, Most Popular Movies, or Themes and Studios. On each page, there’s a streaming preview, followed by a slide-show of clips. Below, you can stream individual scenes in Real or Windows, or download the whole movie in Windows. While you don’t find RandyBlue on this site, they feature favorites such as Falcon, Colt, and Michael Lucas. There are over 90 studios in the archives.

Navigation

There aren’t any intrusive ads covering the homepage, and once you get the hang of the site, it’s fairly easy to navigate. Naked Sword’s own wallpaper is the only distraction. If you hit Themes, you can then go to Vintage (only the hairstyles have changed), see clips and a preview of the film, along with a plot summary, the name of the studio, the director, and the models. You can cross reference onto the models, or themes, should something catch your fancy. Vintage is going to appeal to guys who get a rise out of seeing John Holmes from back when they wrote “XXX” below the title. They even have pre-condom films in the archives. I managed to find my fave from the 90’s, Rob Cryston, in about five of his “best ofs.” The site is very easy to navigate, and every page has the basic format. (Like many other sites, unfortunately, if you click onto the live chat page, you’re stuck.)  I think the trick here is that they don’t try too hard; most people who surf porn sites aren’t looking for a technical challenge.

Content

There aren’t a lot of photos on the site; the ones they have are nice, but it’s not a place to get your trading screen-saver cards. The videos themselves aren’t in high definition, and the lower streaming options are horrible. The quality is good if the film is good, so don’t expect Joey Stefano’s clip to look great; the newest Falcon’s got fairly clean resolution. There were problems on my computer when I tried to download, and I went through different browsers before I could access anything.

Guys and Sex

The guys run the gamut, because you’re searching through different studios. A bonus to a site with so many studios is that, if you start searching, you can find studios and men you didn’t know about. Private Studios has a man named George Vidanos, whose considerable talents had somehow eluded me. There are twinks, natch, but most of the featured films are geared more toward the traditional beef. Make sure you check out Falcon’s new star, Landon Conrad, in “Morning Wood.” Conrad is movie-star chiseled, with a cock that could make any top flip. I’m sure we’ll see more of his in the future. It’s pretty difficult in a site like this to not find the kind of sex and men you like. If you’re not happy with what’s been released this week, do like a Rolodex and flip through their Featured section.

Value

This is a great product for guys who want to download movies they don’t have access to, especially for older films that are harder to find on the Internet; remember, some other sites will let you stream these clips, but not save onto your hard drive. There’s a blog, which is a fun collection of hype and nonsense, and an original NakedSword.com Internet-only flick, The Grunts, which is worth checking out for its military-style men. The live chat shows will get some of you off, and there’s a section on safe-sex (a nice touch), as well as a new streaming feature they’d like you to test out (I had “issues” with it, and let them know in the survey below). There was one porn interview, and I hope they continue with those; it’s always fun to know more about the man you jack off to. Even though I don’t put wallpaper high on my priorities of what makes me want to pay for a porn site, a much better selection of models would be welcome.

Overall Impression

This is a recommended site for guys who want to go through all the types of porn on the market, both genre and time period, and who want to download it onto their computer. If you’re tired of those old videocassettes, here’s the place you might be able to find copies of Catalina’s best films. If you’re a gay-porn techie, and need to have all your stuff in high definition, you’ll hate this site. And don’t be surprised if you have a few issues with downloading.
