First Impression

I'll admit, I read and watch Twilight.  They're total guilty pleasures.  And by "guilty", I mean "really guilty" because when I'm in the middle of a book I actually stop and think, "Why am I reading this?  No seriously, why am I reading this?  Okay, I'm going to stop reading this."  And then before I can stop myself, I continue to read about how Edward and Jacob are kind of a controlling misogynists who won't let Bella make her own damn choices and Bella is totally dick-matized (like hypnotized, but...you get it).

So when I get to Twinklight.TV and see that it's, y'know, vampire twinks, I'm just...I don't even know, y'all.  I'm going into this with an open mind.  My first impression is a bit torn.  Part of me is groaning inwardly, because the whole vampire thing is, in my opinion, getting a little tired.  The other part of me is dancing like a fucking loon because this shit is kind of awesome.  Honestly, is there anything in this world that's more appropriate to vamp out than gay twink sex?

Navigation

All that said, I have to admit that the visitor's homepage is impeccably designed.  It invokes the feeling of Twilight while giving it a new twist.  There are just enough scene tableaus to pique my interest and make me want to log in.  Logging in, the site design cleans up a little bit.  The Twinklight logo remains as the header, with stars Kryz Perez (as Edmund), Jayden Ellis (as Egan) and Sklyer Bleu (as Billa...are you kidding me with this shit?).  Everything else is a simple black.  That might sound too simple, or potentially too overpowering, but in this way the video updates really pop as the focal point.  Your eye is basically forced to the content.  The navigation is pretty simple as well. The only time the design and navigation get confusing is when you click on "Bonus Scenes" and are redirected to the Gay Life Network and the design/navigation changes (more on this below).

Content

The content is a bit of a let down.  On the member's home page is a message:  "As a member of AdultLifeNetwork, you've been granted a special preview access to Twinklight. To unlock the site and all its content only costs $10, and it gives you access to Twinklight the movie, behind the scenes footage, additional episodes and more!"  So not only are you paying for a membership to AdultLifeNetwork, but you have to pump out an additional $10 in order to see the full Twinklight film.  There are some things you can see without paying this extra $10, and that's behind the scenes footage.  These are videos that often include very little sex and focus more on bloopers, actor interviews, preparing the set and vignettes to that effect.  These videos can only be streamed online and there are no photo sets.  There is a tab for "additional episodes" which include deleted and extended scenes, but these can't be watched without paying the additional $10.

Guys and Sex

The guys are pretty cute.  I mean, they're twinks.  It's hard to really identify their "hotness", though, without being able to see them fuck.  I mean, you could have a completely ordinary-looking guy and think "ho-hum" but watch the video anyway, and that ordinary-looking guy is a fucking powerhouse (literally).  At the same time, you could have an insanely hot stud who just can't fuck and it's not worth it.  There are a couple of snapshots I've seen where the sex looks like it's going to be fucking badass (I mean, come on, vampire sex?  HOT) but again, without being able to see it, it's impossible to tell.

Value

As mentioned before, if you click on "Bonus Scenes" you'll be taken to the GayLifeNetwork, which gives you access to a ton of porn that you actually can watch without paying extra money.  Within GayLifeNetwork are five great paysites:  Twinkylicious, Beddable Boys (which is hot hot hot), TeachTwink, Lollipop Twinks and Best Bareback.  Additionally, there are video feeds available, as well as live cams.  If you can't actually watch Twinklight, you might as well watch all the extra value that your membership gives you.

Overall Impression

Twinklight.TV definitely whets my carnal appetite for more, but doesn't deliver without a fee.  If you're up for paying that extra $10, go for it.  In the meantime, I'll be reading Edward/Jacob fan fiction.
