First Impression

Oh twinks.  They're such a give or take for me, like hipsters.  Like, occasionally you see a hipster--the kind who doesn't even identify himself as a hipster, he just wears cut-off jean shorts and a white v-neck because that's what he felt like wearing and it was clean--and he's really hot.  Like, bend me over in the middle of the street hot.  But most often you see a hipster that's just really pretentious.  Twinks are kind of like that, especially in porn.  Mostly I see twinks in porn and they just seem so...self-involved.  But every now and then, there's a twink who's just really into sex. He doesn't do it because he's hot or because he's trying to make money.  He does porn because sex is awesome and why not just have sex as much as possible?  Doesn't that make sense?

The homepage for Twinks.com has me torn.  Glancing at it, with it's dark blues and slate gray accents on a black background, makes me think it's pretentious and takes itself a bit too seriously. There's an air of importance here that I can't quite put my finger on.  But glancing at a preview and playing the streaming teaser clip, I'm surprised to feel myself getting a little stiff--and I'm not one who generally gets off on twinks.  Logging in, much of site design remains--a blessing, as I've seen countless sites change their layout and design upon login, thus negating any goodwill I've gathered for them.  There are less pictures on the members' homepage, kind of taking away the tantalization I had from the guest home page.  Also, hilariously, there's a stupid looking cartoon twink masturbating in the top right corner.  I can't do it justice, but I don't think I should be laughing at porn.

Navigation

The site design is good enough.  There's nothing spectacular about it, but there isn't anything garish or boring about it either.  With the aforementioned backs, grays and blue, the only colors that "pop" are the colors of the actors; basically, the site design enhances the content by not distracting from it.  The navigation, however, is a little frenetic.  The navigation bar at the top is all well and good and there's nothing wrong with that.  However, on that homepage, there's so much to look at and it's just not organized in an effective way.  On a plus side for the navigation, in addition to having a separate section for the model, the videos and photo sets are separated into "Jerkoff" and "Buddy".  If all you want is to see a twink go to town on his own dick, it's going to be really easy to find.  And if you want to see some man on man (on man (on man)) action, you don't have to worry about wading through videos of solo sessions to find hot sex.  Twinks.com may work at being a hipster, but it does it pretty well.

Content

As normal, the videos can be downloaded or streamed online.  If you choose to stream online, you can watch in either WMV or Flash format; however, Twinks.com excels by allowing you to choose your own bitrate (I don't know exactly what that means, but I do know that it means that I get my porn faster if I choose right).  Downloading the videos is kind of a crapshoot, though; they can only be downloaded in WMV format.  The photo sets cannot be downloaded in bulk, which is kind of a letdown.  The site was doing so well!  However, they pictures can be downloaded in slideshow format, with a drop down menu for easy jump-to capabilities, and another drop down to let you determine at what speed you would like your photos to pass.  Both the videos and photo sets can be organized in multiple ways:  by name A-Z, by name Z-A, oldest first, newest first or top rated.  This last choice is my particular favorite; if I'm horny and on the go, why would I want to waste my time finding the best porn on the site, when viewers before me have already rated the best?  It's a time saver, and a wonderful little addendum that puts Twinks.com ahead of the pack.

Guys and Sex

Okay, here's the deal.  Color me surprised:  the sex is hot.  Like, incredibly hot.  I don't know how Twinks.com is choosing their models, but they're doing it really, really well.  While there is the occasional miss, the majority of the videos I watched were hits.  These guys are in it for the sex, which is so beyond awesome, I can't even put it into words.  The best thing I can say about it is that I don't get off on twinks, and even I threw bone.  It helps, for sure, when you have committed bottoms like Jake Lyons (who is becoming the big bottom-y bottom version of Christian Wilde) and Tristan Sterling, and tops who can give it like big muscle-y daddies, like Tony Douglas and this other kid Chris Porter (a little thing about Chris Porter:  he fucks like a dungeon master in the making; the combination of his tattoos and his sneer, combined with the forceful way he pushes his bottoms down on his dick while they ride him is beyond amazing and I'm getting a little wood just thinking about it).  If Twinks.com continues to weed out the chaff?  Boy howdy.  That's all I can say.  It isn't even a sentence.
