First Impression

Making Gay Porn is advertised as “Behind the Scenes of the Number 1 Gay Porn Bareback Studio, Hot Desert Knights.” When you hit the homepage, however, you see what looks like a lot of basic hardcore videos. After I checked a couple out, I realized they were “extended” versions of shorter clips from the HDK studios. I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t read the fine print. To the right, where the Most Popular videos are, there is more backstage stuff—some camera guys running around along with the naked men. They also have some “best of” anthologies, and lots of photo galleries. For the most part, it seems like an extended version of Hot Desert Knights.

The site is a bit confusing, probably because you’re going to look for all the behind the scenes stuff. I don’t like that all the “updates” are written in a dull typeface that doesn’t include links. The search mechanisms worked well, and after a few minutes it’s pretty easy to get a feel for the site. For some reason, “Asian Bareback” has its own link at the top and is not listed as a Bonus Site. And maybe it’s me, but the men in the Photo Updates section don’t seem nearly as hot as the guys in the clips. Also, the newest video is from June, and the last photo is from March (this review is from September). Despite the fact that there are tons of photos and clips, none of them are very new. In the Coming Attractions section, they show a thumbnail of a video that will be out on 9/9, more than a week from the day this is being written.

The photos are good quality and you can view them in a slideshow. The resolution is fairly strong. The photo shots under the videos aren’t available in the slideshow format. You can only make the images larger. The quality isn’t all that great; kind of blurry, not particularly well directed – I suppose that’s why it wasn’t included in the original DVD. In addition to the streaming, you can download with WMV or for your iPod. The clips are long—over 30 minutes—and the extra material is all exclusive to Making Gay Porn and the HDK Central network. As I said before about the updating, it’s pretty slow and inconsistent. Come back in a couple of days and you’re likely to see the same thing.

Guys and Sex

There’s sort of an odd section of men on this site. It’s hard to define them, as they’re in-between muscle jocks and smooth dudes. Some are kind of flabby, and some look like they spend a couple of hours a day at the gym. For the most part, they’re clean cut; a few tattoos, etc., but nothing extreme. As for the sex, it’s on the basic side. The guys are semi-into each other. There wasn’t one shot that left you with a “hot damn, that guy was slammed” feeling. There are a couple of scenes where the men look like lovers and seem completely compatible. When that happens, it’s hot. They know their partner’s body, they know how to get him hard, they know how to shove their cock in nice and slow. Besides the occasional facial, don’t expect anything outrageous.

Value

There are pluses to this site, and bareback lovers are going to cream. Members of Making Gay Porn get access to HDK Central, which is the Hot Deserts Knights full network of hardcore bareback content. With that, you get more than 600 other videos and about 1,000 more photo galleries. Making Gay Porn also offers live cams and an “Articles” section that was interesting, but very outdated. Most of the bonuses come from the network and not this site.

Overall Impression

Making Gay Porn is either a site in the making or one on the decline. The extended clips are good, if not incredibly arousing, and they have lots of photos. They don’t update very often, and the extras aren’t particularly exciting. It’s really just a bonus site for Hot Desert Knight Fans.  

Bottom Line

Making Gay Porn is a “behind the scenes” site of Hot Desert Knight bareback porn. Most scenes are just longer than the original DVDs. While there aren’t a lot of scenes, some of them can be quite good.
