First Impression

As part of the Phoenixxx.com network, My Husband Is Gay is a mini-site within a fairly mini-network. To log on you have to go to Phoenixxx.com and then find the My Husband Is Gay link or search button. Once there, you’ll find about twenty videos and twenty models. All of them are pretty young, and most are either smooth or naturally muscular. Other than what that title suggests, there isn’t a whole lot to entice you or pull you in. Also, if you know about network sites, you know that you’ll probably find you’re bumped around a lot, and that most of the related sites and extras are fairly similar. I didn’t see anything particularly promising on the homepage, and it wasn’t until I checked out a few videos that I saw the theme come alive; always a plot with an unhappy husband cheating or something very similar.

This site is more confusing than most. It’s not clear when you first log on that you’re actually in My Husband Is Gay, and the videos themselves don’t even have the label—they all say “Phoenixxx.com.” The interview clips are as common as the hardcore clips, which makes for an odd balance. Yes, I’m a fan of chats with the stars, but it shouldn’t substitute for the hardcore stuff. Since there aren’t a lot of guys or clips, it’s pretty easy to find what you’re looking for once you’ve hit My Husband Is Gay. On the homepage, if you hit the Sites link, it will show My Husband Is Gay right away. That’s the safest way to get there. Confused? So am I.

The photos are top-notch, large, and look great. They have tons of images from each scene, and you can view in a slideshow or download into a zip file. The videos are okay; the sound is average, and they have a lot of ridiculous set-ups with bad acting even by porn standards. The sets are cheap-looking, and the lighting is basic in-your-face. You see the action, but you don’t get any terrific camera angles. Downloading and streaming options are great. You can choose from different streaming speeds and you can download in WMV or MP4. I sampled both methods and had no computer glitches. The site updates a couple of times a week, but keep in mind that those interviews take up about half the space. So if you don’t count the extra sites, you’re getting something new about every seven days. All of the material is exclusive to Phoenixxx.com.

The guys on this site are very young and vary in degree of muscle mass. Some are really thin and pale, and a couple look like they spend a lot of time at the gym. There are no extremes outside of that, box, however. You’re not gonna find daddies or bears or anything outrageous. The faces are pretty nice, but everything has a very amateur porn feel. When the guys fuck, it’s cautious and careful, a sign that these men haven’t been doing this too often and don’t have good guidance. Since amateur porn is a big turn on for a lot of guys, that could be a plus. Usually it works best, however, when the guys look like they’re fucking their boyfriends. This site is a bit fishy, and a bit confusing. They have the two main sites that are part of the Phoenixxx.com network, and they also have some extra videos that aren’t in any particular category. Plus, you can go to some bonus networks. Maybe they're still figuring it out. Check them all out and see if it floats your boat. In addition to the wallpaper and sites, you get live cam shows. Whether or not you like it really depends on if you like the handful of models the network offers.

Overall Impression

My Husband Is Gay seems like one of those sites-in-the-making. So far, they don’t have a lot of interesting content, but they might build on it. The porn is fine; they just need more of it, and more variety in the types of men they hire. It’s definitely youth-oriented, but the set-ups are bad and the themes are tired, even for porn. All of the extra sites look pretty much the same. Here’s hoping it improves.
