First Impression

The only thing I expect when I log on to a site called Bear BFs is a lot of hairy, big men. You get that here, in home-movie fashion. The one thing that’s always confused me about the term “Bear” is the different definitions; sometimes it seems to mean beefy guys with chest hair, while at other times it seems to mean “big, older guy.” On this site, you get more of the latter, but they do throw in some who fit the first definition. As part of the Boyfriend Pass network, I’ve learned that all of their stuff is very amateur, and that’s their selling point. They’re not trying to compete with the big, commercial porn sites; just the opposite. The audience for Bear BFs are the guys who love looking at other guys who probably look a lot like themselves.

The site design is confusing, as are all the Boyfriend Pass sites. Never mind the annoying penis-enlargement ad that greets you when you log on, they jumble all their extra sites together on the same page, so it’s difficult to find what you’re looking for. If you’re jonesing for a bear, and can’t seem to find anything but Asian twinks, send a note to the administrators. If they get enough complaints, maybe they’ll clean up their pages. When you do go to the main page, you see the extras first, and then have to navigate the Bear BFs site at the bottom of the page. Once there, you’ll find what you want. However, click back and you return to the main Boyfriend Pass page; not the Bear BFs page.

Content

The screen shots are great, they are high resolution, and they have a ton. The only problem is that they are not from Bear BFs. They’re photo shoots from all the different sites on the Boyfriend Pass network. If you don’t care, great. But you need to know that gorgeous bear you’ve just fallen in love with doesn’t have a photo set under his clip. The videos, of course, are terrible, and that’s the point. This isn’t about “film”; this is about short snippets of guys jerking off, showing off, playing with themselves, and sometimes just posing. Unfortunately, some of the cutest bodies don’t even film their faces. That’s a shame. You can stream or download in tons of different ways: WMV, MPEG, MP4. You’re also given the option of watching sections of the clips—odd, because they’re pretty short to begin with. The update schedule is impressive, although at some point as I was going through old clips, I found photo sets instead of videos. Other than that, it looks as if they’re updating a few times a week and sticking to a schedule.

Guys and Sex

I talked a bit about the different types of “bears” on this site, and the faceless shots. The faceless shots deserve more discussion because, not only are they dumb, but for the most part they are not bears. Periodically, and I’m not sure why, they throw in these faceless, ripped men, posing for the camera, and it’s a rip-off. If you want bears, you’re gonna be disappointed, and if you want a break from bears, you’re gonna be disappointed that they’re not naked and you can’t see their faces. Other than those clips, you get a lot of basic sex here; guys jerking off, guys with dildos up their butts, guys fucking bareback. There’s nothing out of the ordinary. A lot of it would make a great background party “film festival.”

Value

Like other Boyfriend Pass sites, the value of this particular site depends on how much you want the extras. If you’re not crazy about anything but the bears, I think you’ll be disappointed. But if you want interracial sites and bareback sites and the other stuff they offer, and you want it all to be amateur, than you’re going to be satisfied. They have live cam shows, but that’s really the only other valuable extra other than the network itself. Keep in mind that the clips are extremely short; they don’t have set-ups or storylines are corny dialogue. Don’t turn these clips on expecting to jerk-off over the course of a nice, 20-minute clip.

Overall Impression

Bear BFs is a mixed bag. On the one hand, they have a lot of clips. On the other hand, some of them are useless and mislabeled. You get all the extra sites, but when you go to the photo section, you’re not getting the guys from this site. I laughed at some of the clips, and I think that’s intentional on the creator’s part. And I found the occasional cute guy getting off. There’s nothing extraordinary here, and nothing terribly wrong.

Bottom Line

Bear BFs is an extremely amateur site of beefy bear types in solo and group clips. As part of the Boyfriend Pass network, you get access to tons of other amateur sites.
