When it comes to porn, “hardcore” could really mean anything. It could be something as simple as a good ass-pounding. All of those statements in quotation marks will be addressed forthwith. - Navigation
The site itself is difficult to navigate at best and the visual aesthetic is lacking. A simple white background with a light blue header doesn’t sound like it would detract from perusing the movies, but it kind of does. Without the visually appealing aesthetic to calm the viewers eyes, everything seems like it’s vibrating off the page, everything seems over-stimulating. Site navigation is also pretty confusing: despite the fact that you are logging into a website that boasts having the best online collection of hardcore adult content, there is a dropdown menu that allows viewers to select a different genre of porn. Why is this necessary when there quantity of Gay Male Hardcore video content is so ample? While it seems like the site is diversifying its options, to the viewer it seems as though the site doesn’t have confidence in what it’s selling. Other aspects of the website are also a little bit confusing, if only based on the layout of the website. Most humans tend to read from left to right, which most sites have on lock, Gay Male Hardcore lists its links from top to bottom on the left side of the page. I had to fight myself from letting my eyes travel from left to right and getting confused. The rest of the site seems as if someone just slapped a bunch of videos up for people to watch with little thought of the best environment from which viewers can pull these videos. -

Perusing the videos at Gay Male Hardcore gives you an idea of the type of hardcore for which the site creators are going: the vanilla side of hardcore that seems to be focused on fierce ass-pounding, interracial three ways and some daddy/son roleplay. Of course, there are more options than that but is any of that truly hardcore? The videos vary in quality. There are those that seem vintage, as though some kind videographer spent hours cataloging porn from the 70s and 80s and uploading it to the internet. There’s something intriguing about watching porn made from before I was born when things like bareback sex weren’t entirely taboo. To this generation, that porn is hot because it’s illicit. To that generation, that porn is just hot because it’s hot. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are videos that are crisper, cleaner with better lighting and better sound. In theory, this works but in practice, when placed up against the “vintage” videos, the newer videos seem a little too clean, a little too pat, a little too safe. Even as hardcore as the new videos might be, the shadowy lighting and seedy looking 80s-porn style made the vintage videos seem more hardcore. -
