Sarah Palin, not so bad after all?

I must admit that I have a soft spot for Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. Even if you don’t agree with her politics, it is impressive that a simple women, with a simple education, simple ideals and humble beginnings has had the balls to stand up for what she believes in and has actually changed the way people look at American politics, for good or bad, forever. This week the outspoken author of two best sellers put her money where her mouth was when she supported the gay conservative group GOProud’s inclusion at the Conservative Political Action Conference. The group, which advocates principles such as, limited government and individual liberty and also advocates gay rights like gay marriage and total equality was seen as a negative presence at the conference and many GOP representatives chose to boycott the event because of their sponsorship.

Palin disagreed with the boycott and found it “hypocritical” not to support their right to champion change to our current government. In an interview with Fox Channel News, Palin stated “I don’t have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America.” She has stated that small government and the poor economy are her major concerns and has gladly supported anyone who wants to create a real change in the policies. I mean the chick did play some mean basketball after all so how could she not have at least some support for lesbians and gays?
